Re: Ford Everest 2.2TDCi AT 6XLT Gearbox problems. The 2.2L's have a "soft" torque converter with a lot of slip. Just after it shifts to a new gear, torque converter will slip - as a torque converter normally does. Then torque converter will lock up. When it locks up, it sound like there are more gears than there really are.
