I'm taking General Physics I (already taken and passed) and II at a CC this year (in other words, algebra based). The adviser told me that it would make no difference when transferring to a university. Now I'm not too sure. From my understanding, Gen Phys 1 is not much different than calculus...
Physics is physics. there is no general. if you observe the nature what you obtain is only the average not the general. so why do you call this as general. i am totaly confused. for example solid state physics means physics of solid state. what is then physics of general. is it a joke or what. i really do not understand this. please explain me ...
General physics on the other hand will continue what they have started and continue to take even more advance courses of what they have already done. It will probably be typical to see general physics students taking 3rd or 4th year of pure analytical mechanics, quantum mechanics and electromagnetics. They will gain a deeper understanding of ...
Dear fellows, I wonder about what is the difference between general physics (i.e. Halliday and the like) and the classical mechanics/electromagnetic theory/etc sequence (i.e. Fowles, Purcell, etc). Someone told me that it is only about the mathematics required, but in that case, is general...
Hi all, i've been searching for a great problem books in physics. Right now, I've been solving I.E. Irodov's Problems in general physics, Mir Publishers. Some of the problems are great. Its fun solving it. I want to know, if there are many more such problem books, requiring great skill at...
I am transferring from community college to university in the fall with only General Physics I completed, so I need to take General Physics II at university. I felt like I did okay in Physics I (I got a B), but I definitely would like to review some of the topics in that class, so what topics...
I'm thinking about being a physics major with a double major in Earth Science. At my college Classical Mechanics is a required course for a physics major, whereas General Physics is required for the Earth Science major. There is an option at my school to take General Physics instead of Classical Mechanics and still fulfill a requirement for the ...
Expression of concern: “On the same origin of quantum physics and general relativity from Riemannian geometry and Planck scale formalism” Astroparticle Physics, Volume 164, 103036 which states: This is a note of a temporary expression of concern related to potential errors in the formulas of this paper.
Personally, I found it challenging. You should really know what you're doing in physics I with vectors and trig as mentioned above. But yeah, if you loved your other physics class, it really isn't that much different in my opinion. Just practice a lot and make sure you know how to approach problems.
Hi, I am looking to study general relativity at my own steam (currently finishing 1st year physics at Warwick) during the summer. What textbook(s) would you recommend? I've heard good things about A. Zee's 'Einstein Gravity in a Nutshell'- is that worth it, and would it be suitable for someone...
