From the book "When Sheep Sleep" by Laura Numeraff: count cows in the meadow instead of the sheep. My idea about "meadow" is a large area covered with grass, so I prefer to use "on." But in the book, the author uses "in." I wonder which one is more idiomatic. THank you.
